1. AASECT

The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) is devoted to the promotion of sexual health by the development and advancement of the fields of sexual therapy, counseling, and education. 2. ISSWSH

The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) is a multidisciplinary, academic, and scientific organization with the following purposes:

  • To provide opportunities for communication among scholars, researchers, and practitioners about women's sexual function and sexual experience,

  • To support the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in research, education, and clinical practice of women's sexuality, and

  • To provide the public with accurate information about women's sexuality and sexual health

3. CENTER FOR SEX EDUCATION

The Center for Sex Education (CSE) is dedicated to the proposition that all people have a right to education that will help them understand, appreciate, and take responsibility for their sexuality. Based in Morristown, NJ, it is the national education division of Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey.

The Center for Sex Education (CSE) provides three core services in sexuality education:

  • Publishing sexuality education manuals used throughout the world. Guides address all ages, and nearly every topic in sex ed, providing sexuality educators with user-friendly, cost-effective lesson plans addressing puberty, healthy and unhealthy relationships, contraception, sexual safety, and much more. 4. GLSEN

GLSEN (formerly the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) is a United States-based education organization working to end discrimination, harassment, and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression and to prompt LGBT cultural inclusion and awareness in K-12 schools.

Their mission is to ensure that every member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. 5. SIECUS

The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to affirming that sexuality is a natural and healthy part of life. SIECUS develops, collects, and disseminates information, promotes comprehensive education about sexuality, and advocates the right of individuals to make responsible sexual choices. It is acknowledged as the institutional voice of these concerns and a pioneer of the comprehensive sex education program.

SIECUS is a recognized leader in the field of sexuality and sex education and has published numerous books, journals, and resources for professionals, parents, and the public. SIECUS’ publication, Guidelines for Comprehensive Education: Kindergarten – 12th Grade, was hailed as a major breakthrough for sex education and continues to be a sought after resource.

6. SHA

The Sexual Health Alliance (SHA) promotes an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to sexuality with the goal of fostering cooperation and dialogue among diverse professionals with communities in the Southwest and the Great Lakes areas.

Throughout the year, SHA facilitates communication among sexual health providers through their signature lecture series, roundtable forums, and educational workshops.  Their events and programming are intended to build community, spark dialogue and encourage collaboration.
